Haagenti is the forty-eighth spirit in the Ars Goetia, a president commanding thirty-three legions. He appears first as a bull with griffin's wings and then takes human shape. His offices combine wisdom with changes to metals and liquids.[1][2]

Metals, water, and wine#

The catalogue credits Haagenti with turning metals into gold and exchanging water and wine. These transformations belong to the magical claims of the entry. They can be studied beside historical alchemical writing without treating the grimoire as a record of successful chemical experiments.[2]

Zagan has a closely related portrait: a winged bull followed by a human form, together with transformations involving metals and liquids. The overlap is unusually strong, but the two receive different numbered positions and ranks.

Wisdom as an office#

Haagenti also makes people wise and teaches various things. This less specific office accompanies the more concrete promises about substances. The catalogue's brief account does not identify a curriculum or explain a complete philosophical system.[1]

His seal provides the identifying sign printed alongside the portrait. When modern charts attach detailed correspondences to Haagenti, those charts are further sources in the figure's reception. The older entry is narrower, giving a bull, a human transformation, a small group of offices, and a place within the seventy-two-spirit list.
