Ronove is the twenty-seventh spirit of the Ars Goetia. He is given the titles marquis and earl and nineteen legions. His appearance is described simply as a monster, while his offices are unusually concerned with communication and social advantage.[1][2]

Rhetoric and languages#

Ronove teaches rhetoric and languages. The catalogue also credits him with providing good servants and favor from friends or enemies. These offices place skilled speech alongside the management of relationships, a recurring connection in the grimoire's learned and courtly vocabulary.[2]

Naberius emphasizes the restoration of lost honor, and Forneus gives rhetoric a place beside reputation. Ronove's entry brings languages and service into the same group of concerns. Their overlap shows how a catalogue can distribute related aims among several figures without assigning each an exclusive domain.

An unspecified monster#

The word monster does not provide a detailed anatomy. Illustrations that give Ronove a particular head, instrument, or number of limbs are interpretations or draw on additional sources. The brief Goetic description offers no comparable detail to the composite bodies of Ipos or Aim.

The source does supply a seal. Ronove's rank, legion total, and offices are also stable identifiers within this edition. Alternative spellings such as Ronové or Roneve can be compared through those features rather than being multiplied into separate entries without textual evidence.[1]
